Sana Merchant-Rupani just finished her seventh season with the National Football League, where she currently serves as the Director of Club & College Marketing. She and her team are tasked with supporting the NFL’s 32 teams and 100+ collegiate partners in order to meaningfully drive the game of football further through engaging and relevant social content.

On the Club side, Sana and her team support all 32 NFL clubs across strategy and analytics, monetization, content best practices, operational support, league-club collaboration, etc. They also work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure NFL teams are able to utilize their social media accounts to drive their respective priorities across fan engagement, revenue generation, and marketing. On the college side, Sana’s team taps into the young college football fans and translate school fandom into the next generation of NFL fans.

Sana has been recognized by Forbes as a member of their “30 Under 30” class (2019), as well as by Hashtag Sports’ inaugural “Creators of Color” program (2021). She was also a part of a cross-functional internal team that won a Sports Emmy for “Outstanding Trans-Media Sports Coverage” highlighting the League’s 100th anniversary (2020).

Sana’s family immigrated to the United States from India in 1999, when she was 9 years old. In 2011, Sana graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, and minors in Sociology and Sport Management. Post-college, she started her career with Burson-Marsteller (now BCW Global), a multinational public relations and communications agency, and also gained experience with Empire State Realty Trust across their properties in the greater New York metropolitan area, namely the Empire State Building.
